Acne is a big problem that we face in the skin care industry. Many people of all ages and genders are suffering from mild to severe cases and everything in between. There is an abundance of products that claim to treat this unfortunate skin condition. These products can be purchased in drugstores, online, high end department stores and physician’s offices, as well as many other places.
Many cases of acne stem from hormones. It is the primary reason why adolescent acne is so prevalent and pregnancy acne is very common. Huge hormonal changes and fluctuations are going on in the body, resulting in breakouts and blemishes (hormonal acne).
Ok I need to be honest, due to my background in distributing prescription products, I subscribed to the belief that if it was not prescription strength (REALLY strong) then you were not going to see improvements. I thought you needed to get aggressive at treating acne, heavy exfoliation, peeling excessively – hit acne “hard”. Dry out your skin until the acne goes away.
Most of you know my story and if you don’t you can read it above. Pretty Mommies was created to give women a safe skin care option that could be used while expecting and nursing. I certainly knew it would be good and help with acne, help to brighten the skin and improve the overall appearance; but I had no idea how good it would actually be! The feedback and stories we are hearing daily are amazing. Many are seeing significant improvements in their skin. Some people are for the first time seeing results after trying numerous products with little to no success. I couldn’t be more excited and happy to hear this news.
The most interesting part of why this line is so successful at helping so many people goes against what most of us in this industry believe to be true. Instead of treating with harsh chemicals that dry out the skin, Pretty Mommies nourishes and treats the skin to natural anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial ingredients that calm down and sooth while hydrating. We use much gentler, pH balanced products. Gentler does not mean that it is not effective. In fact in this case gentler means that it is less irritating, designed to reduce inflamed acne prone skin; therefore not causing additional aggravation to already compromise and irritated skin.
