A new groundbreaking study shows that Vitamin B can help to prevent birth defects and congenital malformations. In an article published in The New England Journal of Medicine, researchers traced the cause of a number of abnormal embryonic developments to a deficiency in nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), a molecule that plays a key role in metabolic regulation.
But the researchers point out that there might be a relatively simple solution to this predicament. A key element in NAD synthesis is niacin, vitamin B-3 complex available as a dietary supplement.
Niacin can also be found in some meats, such as tuna ad turkey, and a number of plant ingredients, including ginger and tarragon.
